Help Reinstate Mike Carlton

On Friday, August  29, popular Sydney Morning Herald columnist Mike Carlton was sacked over the telephone for refusing to submit his regular column for the Saturday strike-affected edition of the Herald. Mike acted on a point of principle. The Workplace Ombudsman has been investigating the his sacking. When the strike concluded three days later, the Sydney Morning Herald’s parent company, Fairfax Media, gave a written undertaking that “there will be no victimisations or discrimination against any person arising from their activities in the course of the industrial dispute”.

Fairfax Media is depriving Sydney Morning Herald readers of a popular columnist and is by refusing to play fair with Mike Carlton.

Help reinstate Mike Carlton by sending a letter to the SMH seeking his reinstatement .
